Meet Raju

Raju Yadav, 32

An artisan and tailor from Jharkhand

Like many of us, Raju travelled from Jharkhand to Delhi in search of independence, even though he had to leave his wife and kids behind. His free-spirited thinking often takes him to a myriad of places, especially monuments etched with a certain history. He doesn’t have a sweet tooth and love eating spicy food.

As a young boy, Raju was keenly interested in getting an education but couldn’t continue studying for long. So he started honing his skills as an artisan when he turned 18. Soon he trained to learn tailoring as well. He is now working in the sampling department at The Burnt Soul and joined the company when it was its nascent stage. “I enjoy working here, it’s a safe and happy working space. I like to work with limited people. That’s when I can deliver my best,” he says. Raju describes the environment at The Burnt Soul as safe and happy. However, he dreams of starting a garment shop in his hometown one day.
